getting measured for costume

hey everyone dont know if im in the right place for this but im buying a costume on ebay but am unsure of my sizes do you think its okay to go into a place like bests and ask them to measure me even though im not buying anything from them i cant think of any other way to get precise measurements except off a tailor thanks
