    R.I.P. Ronnie

Was looking forward to seeing him at Sonisphere Spain.
I too thought he was on the road to recovery and that he just needed more time to recover from the chemo.

    Cancer sucks:(

i svängen lätta i dansens ringar
i stigen yra i nöjets lag
och myrten blommar och lyran klingar
    men över tröskeln stiger jag
    då stannar dansen
    då sänkas ljuden
    då vissnar kransen
    da bleknar bruden...

Another one of metal's stalwarts is gone:(

    RIP

I wasn't really into Dio... But when I heard he was supporting Maiden I figured I should listen to some of his music.... and man I was blown away! Some brilliant songs over such a long period of time...
    RIP

Saw Dio (the band) back in the SFX and at Donington in the mid-late '80's.
Great voice and a great frontman.
No more 'Heaven & Hell' either I presume?
    RIP Ronnie :(

Was just browsing the forum and saw the thread title.

Damn. Was hoping that Dio would beat the big C.

R.I.P Ronnie, think Holy Diver and Mob Rules are about to get aired here to give the little man with the giant voice a blast.

I was gutted when the news of Ronnie's death was confirmed.

He will live on in the legacy of music he leaves us; and every time I raise "the horns" I'll remember him. He possessed the finest voice in metal. I was privilaged to see Dio live at Donington in 1987 and for such a wee man, his voice boomed out across the venue.

A legend; an icon; a genius who will live on forever in the hearts of metallers
