TBH, i always preferred my rock alot heavier.. but in an industry makred by negativity, hostility, he seemed like an extremely positive, gracious, humble person. He wasn't phyisically imposing like Peter Steel was... but he could
still fill the room with his presence.

    RIP.

And i think that the official statements on his Official website, Official Facebook, Niji management site and personal Facebook of his best friend say otherwise.

My bad. Read the 'false' and didn't refresh.

Just saw this over on thumped. Great idea.
In association with The Distortion Project and the Irish Cancer Society:

    Presenting:

    The DIO Memorial Show
    The Village
    Dublin
    August 14th
    2010

Line up to follow and more details over the coming days.

All bands who will be performing will be playing at least 1 song from Ronnie's back catalogue, if not 2.

This will be the second night of 2, one of which will be held in Belfast. News from James to follow \m/

All proceeds will go towards the Irish Cancer Society.

This will be a great way for everybody to celebrate the life of DIO and support a great cause that dearly needs our help. As i'm sure there are a lot of people on here who have suffered the loss of family, friends and anyone that would have been close to you.

So lets make this a day to remember. This is not to be missed.

The memorial show would be a great idea I think, and would draw a nice crowd.

Was very shocked to hear this, I thought the updates on his website meant he was improving and his fight against the cancer was going good :(

I wonder who Maiden will get as a replacement now...

Dio's website is offering fans a Memorial pack, if they make a donation of $35 (+$15 for worldwide delivery), total is $50 (42Euro)
All proceeds goes to Ronnie James Dio's 'Stand up and Shout' cancer fund.

Included in the pack is a t-shirt (Sizes M-3XL), A memorial booklet and a memorial button (badge)

I've ordered mine, was gonna make a donation anyway to his fund, but seeing as ya also get something to remember him by is a bonus

I made a donation to The Stand up and Shout cancer fund ($35), as i paid an extra $15 i got a commemorative t-shirt, The booklet given out at the funeral and a button badge.

You can still make a donation and get the shirt and badge but they've run out of the booklets.

I've scanned mine and here it is..
