Its got two channels. Back box and cabinet.
    The cabinet channel is distorted.

They're a very common audio op-amp and I'm working on some audio preamp stuff at the moment so chances were quite high :)

I assume it DIP ones you need ?

I've seen that, expensive stuff, I think I'll stick with just doing the lightning upgrade and light up topper mods

If anyone ever needs any electronics don't be afraid to ask!
I have tons of random bits.
Usually order stuff from China and by the time they arrive I've forgotten what they were for....

Both Red and Ted got a new coil each for their eyelids and a few new transistors but they are back to life!
Absolute pain to work on them,
5 coils each to control them and an electric motor,
Looks like the two coils that needed replacing were the wrong ones from the factory.

the old one and the beefier one that should be there.

    Looking a bit better now!

Got 2 X-Acto knives delivered this morning as they seem perfect for some fine cutting/trimming on mods. They dont seem to come with caps(or you need to buy a kit or something), and are super sharp.
So obviously I sliced myself to bits within 20mins

Anyway, super glued my hand back together and quickly went about protecting myself from these bad boys :)

Did anyone else get the Dreamcast USB Host Controller from that guy in Kazakhstan(the same guy who did the 3DO version)?
Just wondering what people did with the USB port sticking out the back of the console. As in did anyone desolder it or just do what I did below.

This is what the guy thinks most people want:

I didn't get it, but I'd prob just desolder the USB header & keep everything internal

Had a bad experience desoldering the USB header on the 3DO version. So decided this was best for now :)
Maybe when my soldering skills improve I'll redo it in another DC. I ended up giving up on the (rather pricey) 3DO version after getting pissed off and got another from him. I must try fix that other one up actually or trade it on maybe if someone wants to fix it with better soldering skills than me.

I'd desolder and use a USB port like this mounted on an 'L' bracket under the internal cover under the disc lid. No cables and neater than it handing out the arse of it, waiting to be broken :)

Yeah, I'll get around to it in the future :)
The 3DO version is the important one and thats all sorted inside and hidden in my JAP RGB FZ1.

Got a Vectrex to look at, no sound or controls was the symptom. Thankfully all the investigative work was already done and replacement chip supplied so just a case of fitting the new AY-3-8910.

Bit on the dusty side so had to give it a mini clean..

So thankfully another Vectrex back to live :)

My Vectrex is extra buzzy and sometimes needs 2 attempts to power up. What might i need to do on that one?
    Replace that AY-3-8910 thing?

I'd say you a power supply problem on that one rather than a logic failure. Was it ever recapped ?

Never recapped no. So I need to be on the look out for a new PSU, or there is something that can be done with the old one?
