Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

CVT trouble on Primera

    Hi All

    A buddy his having trouble with his 2000 Primera. The car wont change gears at all and seems to be stuck in first.

    Even when he switches over to the tiptronic mode nothing is happening.

    Anyone have experience of these boxes ?

    Someone had a similar problem on another forum, turned out to be the stepper motor. Not a major thing to replace apparently.

    Thanks Confab - the issue seems the exact same as the thread.

    I'm guessing the stepper motor itself seems to be quite expensive so it mite not be worth replacing.

    Could anyone advise where the stepper motor on the Primera is located?

    I must admitt I'm a little confused how the stepper motor effects gear change in the CVT ?
