Hi, I have a BMW E46 '03 and need a vacuum pump for it. Does anyone know where the best place to buy one online might be and then I can get it fitted from there? Thanks

    Hey,

I usually get my BMW parts from realoem.com

Realoem is a great place for looking up part numbers, etc. but they don't actually see the parts.

Best bet for parts like these are either Euro Car Parts (www.eurocarparts.co.uk iirc) or German, Swedish and French (www.gsfcarparts.com). ECP have a pace in Belfast and do mail order. GSF have a couple of outlet's in Dublin and Belfast (also do mail order iirc).

    Try here op: http://www.c3bmw.co.uk/

Most of there parts are OEM and at a good price. They dont charge too much for delivery and delivery is fairly quick.

You probably meant to say "get my BMW parts numbers" since they do not sell parts.

    Otto Car Parts

    www.otto.ie

Based on the Airton Road in Tallaght - just heard a few people getting parts from them with good results.

They are good and friendly, plus they only carry original manufacturers that provided many of the parts on your car, such as Behr (Fan coupling, radiator, thermostat...), Sachs, etc.

Avoid GSF they do sell sub quality parts. They sell many brands that you cannot even look up on the internet.
Plus they keep 20% of the item price if you are not happy with a part and want to return it for any reason. As for the warranties they are unable to give figures. If you ask them how long is this part warrantied for, they are unable to tell, they only say if there is a problem they send it to the manufactuer for repair/check.

    +1

Gsf are really incompetent also. One particular retard seems to take the minimum of care (Long mile road one) Went over there for two parts recently, got back to mechanic and both were for another model altogether.

Double check your stuff before leaving there if you do use them, but I wouldn't again.

Otto, are a great bunch, and are highly recommended.

What about the 2nd hand option?

Try the following UK websites, or rather, give them a ring:

    http://www.quarrymotors.co.uk/

    http://www.fabdirect.com/

Also try this guy based in Abbeyfeale:

    http://www.bavarianautotechnik.com/

I am sure they will be able to sort you out if you can get through to them.

Use the phone rather than email would be my advice. Oily fingers are not the best on the keyboard! Best of luck.
