where are you? how much concrete you need shifting?

the correct term would be pumping. there is a few places that do it. but if you are only trying to avoid a small amount of wheel barrowing it might be more cost effective to buy 2 more wheelbarrows and get 2 mates in

As matron said how much do u need shifting, i know co based in walkinstown charge about €600 -700 per day on site. A couple of mates with a few barrows will get it in no probs. Most companies have a grace time so if you are efficient enought they will even pour it into each individual barrow for u.

Just look up a concrete pumping company in the golden pages, their rates have fallen recently for some reason(ahem) and they can save a lot of work for their price. In some cases(bad access, lack of help, large volumes of mix needed, high shuttering) they can be a godsend. get a few quotes though, as prices may vary. You also need to run a tight schedule if running a pump, ensuring the ready-mix company know you are going to be pumping, that you need x amount of meters at y time, and ensure that you inform the pumping company of the spec you are pumping-ie what Newton and slump the mix will be, where it is going and what its for. If its a high drop from the pump boom down to the fill site, ask the pumping company to carry a 90 degree bend for the drop pipe, to slow the mix down. If you are using a high newton mix, you may need an admixture to allow the concrete to flow enough to be pumped-a plasticiser, again, your ready-mix supplier will advise. Most pump companies will travel if the volume is good, if its a small job, get a local.
