Heh, no. That's when 5 regenerated into 6 and promptly started to strangle his companion, Peri.

Really need to watch more of the old series... unfortunately my other half is not a fan of the Doctor...

None of his companions died. The only one to die (that counts) was Adric in "Earthshock" during the 5th Doctor's era.
However, I don't think anyone would have blamed the 6th Doctor if he had later on successfully strangled Mel.

Spoilering just in case anyone's going to 'Angels' unspoiled, but interesting idea for
departure of the ponds, that at the end of Angels, the Ponds get put back to when River regenerated in "Day of the Moon" (assuming it was NY she was in) and they raise her. They have a kid, River has a family That's why Melody seems to know a lot about doctor, even more than Amy could have told her?l .
    Could be interesting?

So the Rory is the Master theory is once and for all disproved (not that I ever believed it but some people were convinced that was there this was going) but there's still some fun gif sets circulating.

Where'd that come from? Official Beeb release or fan-made?

Oh my giddy Jesus, that is beyond brilliant.

Fanmade, from backchecking the URL. Still amazingly awesome though.

    They should have shot this...
    Doctor Who: P.S.

    Duration: 04:38

Find out what happened to Rory's dad and the Ponds in this unshot scene by Chris Chibnall.

Absolutely. Would have been very poignant.

Yeah, it would have been a nice end to the Pond's storyline especially as this is almost exactly how we found out about the Weeping Angels in the first place and would have been a nice bookend.

They may have left it out for that very reason though. Or maybe, seeing as there was Amy's message to the Doctor, including this additional end, it might come across as a bit of a Return-Of-The-King-multiple-endings.

For whatever reason, I think it was a mistake. I thought it would have been a wonderful ending that would have given a better sense of closure.

    Ah well

Or, after TATM was aired, they realised Brian was left hanging as to what happened to his son. Note it was written by Chris Chibnall, not Steven Moffat, so it was never part of the script

It was interesting, but strikes me as a quick fix to a gigantic plotline that they failed to resolve within the show

If there's ever, ever to be a Who movie, it'd kill me to see Burton direct. I don't want Johnny Depp as 12 looking emo with Helena Bonham Carter as his companion...

I agree, it would ruin it. Danny Boyle would be much better.

I think Moffat was right when he said any movie should be part of canon/continuity, starring whoever the current TV Doctor happens to be.

My two-year old was looking over my shoulder when I opened the thread and the first thing he said was, "No! Not him in the Tardis!"

    :D
