    Hi all,

Long time reader first time poster,

I have noticed that a good deal of web design companies offer a CMS to clients, Is there a specific package they use or are they all created in house, For example I have seen this site ( http://www.lovinlife.ie/ ) and have seen that the backend login allows users to select what page they wish to edit ( http://www.lovinlife.ie/admin/ )

I have seen from the image code that the editing is done using ckeditor, has anyone any idea what cms this is or is there a similar one?

    Bruce

It varies. People used to make their own CMSs, but these days people are using existing ones as a starting point and customising them.

Common CMSes for medium-large sites are:
    Drupla
    Joomla
    ExpressionEngine
    Wordpress

    to name but a few.

Search for CMS in this forum and the design forum to see lots of discussions about various CMSs and their benefits.

    Cheers buddy,

That link is a great resource, still don't have any idea what is powering the site in my first post, it looks like a neat little cms

The html has a lot of inline styles which isn't good practice.

It's a custom CMS, and it's pretty basic from the looks of it.
