Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Seatpost & Brake Levers

    Lo All,
Looking for a bit of advice on seatposts and brake levers.

I am building an old Raleigh Racer into a single speed but I want to change the brake levers and the saddle/seatpost.

The current seat post is 25.8mm dia but I cannot find a new one in that dia. Does anyone know if they can be gotten anywhere for handy money or would a smaller(25/25.4mm) work ok?

Also will a new set of Aero brake levers fit on an old set of bars(20/21mm dia) or would I have to buy new bars? I would prefer not to buy new bars as the old ones are lovely.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Eoin

You _might_ get away with a 25.4 and a "coke can" shim (cut and wrap around the seatpost.) Commercial shims aren't made in sizes that small. It certainly won't work without a shim. I'd get the right size if possible.

    Thanks Blorg. Most appreciated.

Any advice on the brake levers fitting or will they fit any size bars?
