Im buying a small patch of land at the back of my place.

So far my solicitor has recieved a compliant map with the area marked out but that map has been stamped and used before for when the house was being built so apparently it cant be used.

I need someone qualified to literally draw a square box the same as the other map and stamp it or certify it or somthing i suppose (a 10 year old could do it).

Anyone know who can do this cheap? how much should i pay?

I got a map shop on Aungier Street to give me a Land Registry compliant map of my parents house. Cost €38.

Give the map to your solicitor. He only has to draw a red box on it and sign it.

when i work in a solicitors office we just photocopied the maps and coloured it in ourselves, we would cover the stamp before we copied.
    it.

its very strange your solicitor would be telling you to a new map drawn up

Land Registry requirements are a lot more stringent now. If you want the site registered in your name then you need to have it properly measured and a map properly marked by e.g. an architect, engineer, surveyor

Maybe 10 year old could draw the box :) - but in this case you need to make sure its done on one of the following:
    • ITM Filed Plan’ maps produced by the Land Registry and
    • ‘OSi Land Registry Compliant Map’ with ITM co-ordinates shown on the upper right corner and the lower left corner, produced by Ordnance Survey Ireland
    • Computer Generated Maps (OSi licensed) displaying ITM coordinate referenced maps
    Taken from http://www.prai.ie/eng/News/Important_Notice_re_Acceptance_of_Maps_Generated_from_the_New_Digital_Map_base_in_Digitised_Counties.shortcut.html

Talk to these guys http://www.mapcentre.ie/ it might be useful to have the old map to hand for grid references, scales, etc.

They moved around the corner a few years ago, I think to this unit on Church Lane South: http://maps.google.ie/?ll=53.337594,-6.266783&spn=0.00082,0.002642&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=53.3376,-6.267052&panoid=F6_SuhhSBrWjcZPP8E2T4g&cbp=12,158.14,,1,1.21

However, the website http://www.mapcentre.ie/ seems to be directing to a UK website.

I wonder if they are no longer OSi agents: http://www.osi.ie/Contact-Us/Agents/Agents-list.aspx

That's about right I'm afraid. No way round getting a certified map other than getting someone qualified to certify it.

Hi lads.. I need to get one of these done for an apartment sale and the price quoted is north of €500. Can anybody recommend an architect who can/will do this properly for a decent price?

sorry don't have the answer but you need to map out land regarding an apartment ? Sounds a bit odd to me whats the exact situation here (this is purely for my curiosity and education)

    Thanks

I was always under the impression that you could bypass all these middle men slapping massive fees onto you and go directly to the OSI.

    http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,594908,739608,0,10

Find your house, click Buy Map, choose Land Registry Compliant Map and add to cart. Cost 25 euros.

There is a sample map linked off the cart in case there is some ambiguity over what type of map you'll get.

    http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/images/Sample_LandRegistry.pdf

I assume your solicitor then needs to add his signature to it but is there really any more to it than that?

It might be that easy for a house, I don't know, but doesn't look like you can identify an individual apartment on that map.
