Hi Guys I Have a Mazda 3. 08. 1.6 Petrol. I saw an ad in the news paper last week saying you can convert your petrol car to e85 ethanol. It all so says if my car is a 08 I will be able to tax it based on co2 emissions and it’s just 99c par liter’s. is it safe to convert would it do any harm to my car whets the mpg like. Any info on this I would be very great full.

    Thanks

dont think you will be able to tax the car on emmissions?
its still based on the manufacturers figures iirc.

You cant change your road tax to emissions based,as previous poster said its as per manufacturer figures when the mpg of the car is tested on a test rig/rolling road at varying speeds/distances/gears etc.Hence urban cycle mpg, extra urban mpg, constant 56mph mpg etc.
