Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Got my 1st hat-trick tonight which I was delighted with (Team hate me now though
) and Ben Dover (As a bot I might add 
) scored the best goal I have seen on this it was an absoloute belter of a goal. We won 5-3 anyway.
nice one,sounds like the teams been doing really well ,the last couple of games, haven't been able to play any of the games since the end of the season cause i've been working alot. hopefully i'll get to play next week..0 -

Nah I think it's like jonnyfingers said on teh FID forums that they were too high up so the Shamrock boys could play over the top and run onto it. You need to be far enough out that if they get the ball it's not an easy shot but close enough to the goal that they can't play balls over the top. I shouldn't really be telling you this but I thikn I'll still manage to score against you when we paly. 0 -

Yeah, it's a tough call when it comes to the defensive line. Personally unless every defender is faster than the opposition team putting your defensive line on the halfway line is not to be advised. As a central defender for Shamrock, who used to be quite slow, I prefer a defensive line around the halfway mark of our half. That way it limits the risk of balls over the top, and creates space for midfield to work in.
Last year we played a game where both defenses pushed very high up so the game could only be played in and around the centre circle. It was ridiculous!
But back to our game against Wasters Wanted I thought the speed difference was the main reason we won so easily. I'd love to see something done to improve this situation and even the teams out but doubt it will happen soon. I was pleased enough with my contribution, had 100% passing and even got to dribble. Really would prefer playing midfield rather than defense as I think I can pick out a pass and move into space pretty well.0 -

I totally agree with you that a balance is required as to where the defence should line up. You don't want too much space in behind but at the same time you don't want to make it easy for them to get close to goal.
However I was just going by IvySlayer's comment above which suggested his team defended too deep ("we all sat back and defended)". I didn't actually watch the game (won't work) but you could be right that they defended too high up. I was just going by his comments.0 -

Yeah I was basing my comments on jonny's post in the FID forum.
Massive game toinght as Sporting Muff take on Shamrock FC. This is a serious grudge match with two teams from Trophy Manager who've been beating each other from the start. 4-0 has been a common scoreline so keep your eyes on it!0 -

Sounds good to me, you will have to advise me on how to go about it. I think I picked speed bullet player at the start, my speed is 61 so what do you reccommened I dont mind either tbh. Oh and try get Baz he is a good lad and player. Woud enjoy playing SD.

Yeah sorry boss but it annoys me that no lads are ever on, we had a chat last game (All 3 of us) and I just wasnt enjoying it which is what I signed up for.0 -

Sunday was the first game i missed... had to go for dinner with the girlfriend and some of her mates. I did mention i had a game trust me, it didnt go down well Best of luck anyway 0 -
