Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What about going for a double DIN screen stereo with built in sat nav or TV? In my opinion the double DIN fascia looks a little bit more OEM than the standard stereo size.

A user on here has fitted such a stereo to hie e46.

well i already have a head unit from my old car which i would like to use, its mainly because i can use my ipod off it with ipod controls off the radio (circle clicker same as ipod).

i would prefer to use this rather than buy another.
I'm just curious as to what fascias are out there, as i previously mentioned i don't think the common one looks great but maybe i am wrong on that too as i haven't actually seen one fully fitted

Well you can have this, which is horrible if you ask me.

Or you can have the new kick ass product, which is out since the last couple of months and looks OEM, offers the look and feel as an OEM screen 16:9, you keep steering wheel functions, it does GPS, MP3, iPod etc.

Below is one reseller in the UK for example, this one is pricey, others are doing the unit for about 650£ and less, and surely on eBay you can probably grab a new unit too from the UK.

ya that does look pretty cool alright but to be honest I'm not looking to spend much on it as i spent a few hundred on a radio last yr on an old car that i want to use (recession and all that)

where could i get the fascia you showed me in that 1st picture (i know you don't like it but i think it looks a hell of a lot better than the piece of **** that i found!!

    thanks.

That 'kick ass' double din unit looks particularly cheap and chinese-y to me I'm afraid!

The centralised fascia is an OEM part - you also need some ducting behind it.

You need 6 and 7 from here -

    Hi Guys,
i m thinking of replacing the factory fitted radio in my 2003 320. i was looking at the different options that i have with regards to Fascia's.
as far as i can see the common one available is the following

    http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/oscthumb.php?src=/images/FTKIT-BMW-01.jpg&w=350&h=276.31578947368&f=jpg&q=95&hash=595c931bd5e9c0a624194722838d9998

I'm not sure if this looks the part though, does anyone know of any better looking alternatives, i read on one forum that there is a centralised one but damn'd if i can find it?

    thanks

I'm looking for a factory fitted CD player for an E46. Are you interested in selling yours?

Yeah, mine is a 2003 with a tape deck too. What were BMW thinking putting a tape deck in a 2003 car?

    thanks anyway, the search continues...

Just go to your dealer - that site isn't an online shop.

It was probably some tight wad paddy who wouldn't spec his E46 properly. I remember I bought a new one in 2002 and literally everything was extra including the CD player.
