Well enjoy it while it lasts then...(only a matter of time before Irish legislation follows)

I actually like my car so there is no way I would let anyone soil it by smoking in it :)
Thats in the uk and the article is based on people smoking with children in the car.

I am trying to cut back on my smoking landmarks during my daily commute :D
You know, that pub, this tree, oh the smoking junctions .

But people can smoke in their car if they want but, people that smoke in the car with their kids in the back are the scum of the earth.:mad::mad:
    As a smoker, I agree.

Usually have the one rollies for the trip. For the long (3+ hours), I'd have a few pre-rolled. Oh, and nothing beats a cigar. Found that smoking a cigar helps me get past Garda checkpoints in Dublin - they see me, and wave me on :D

Sheesh, what's with the wannabe smokers and high horsers busting in on our thread.

I don't smoke in the car, or any confined space. I wash my hands after every smoke and always wear outside clothes when smoking. Smokes are nice, fresh smoke smells nice, but stale smoke is yacky, as is ash flying all over the car.

Check out my minty white smile: :D

I used to until I got the new car. It doesn't have an ashtray.
Now I roll a ciggie, get out and smoke outside. Never smoked with the kids in the car and don't smoke in the house.
I must admit it makes a difference - no burn holes, no full ashtrays and no yellow headlining. Traffic jams are a bit hard though.

I don't smoke, and only once have I ever let a friend smoke in my car, and that was only because his granny had just died that day and he was very upset and very drunk. A complete once-off!

We, as a family, used to drive every year to the South West of France long before there were Motorways. There were the odd few in France but not near where we were going so you can imagine how long it would have taken to drive the 1600km journey in a 94 Escort with 5 people in it full of luggage.

My father is still a massively heavy smoker. He was a 30-40 a day man back then and would light up the cig and smoke with the windows up and only open the window to flick the ash out so everybody in the car was forced to smoke as well.
