Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just watching it again, is that Tim Howard and Landon Donovan at about 1:08?

    Yep it is, well spotted.

Lassina Diarra is also in the add, he gets skinned by Rooney at 0.47 and Patrice Evra at 0.55

Nike ad is excellent, quite long though, it will cost them a few bob to start running this during the WC. Some clever advertising exec just earned himself a nice bonus in any case.

Think it is gonna be played in full during the ad break for the Champions League final tomorrow night.

Love the Federer and Kobe Bryant cameos...

It's a good ad alright, but it's hardly earth shattering. It's shot well, but as far as content goes - it's kind of exactly what you'd expect from a Nike WC ad.

And to think if it wasnt for T.Henry Paul McShane could have been in that add

Whats up with Rooneys ''nightmare'' scene and the English fans rioting/moving towards the police? Didnt think they would suggest the English fans are trouble makers.

No, they're mocking the media and English supporters, who always have high hopes going into the World Cup and when England go out, they act like it's the end of the world! Hence the stock market crashing and Rooneys career, gone.

Considering Nike make the Dutch kit, and the latest one is the best they've had in years, (throwback to the orange and black of the 1974 kit, as opposed to white and blue recently) it's a real real shame that they didn't show more of the kit and didn't include any players prominintly. You have Sneijder and Robben being very recognisable and playing on opposing sides of club football's biggest and most widely watched match tonight.

I think it's a huge mistake not using either of those guys and particularly not featuring the kit better, it's Nike's nicest jersey in the WC.

Apart from that Alejandro González Iñárritu has been my favourite director since I first saw Amores Perros and he's done a beautiful job with this ad. Nice seeing Gael García Bernal get in on it too, he should play Ronaldo!

The 'Take it to the next level' ad was also pretty incredible

EDIT: lol just watching it there and all the main stars are no longer with those teams (Ibra not at Inter, Ronaldo not at Utd, Fabregas (shortly) not at Arsenal, Ronaldinho not at Barca). The ad is not even that old!

Well, they just played the full ad on rte, cut out about a second in total though, cut out the glass smashing when rooney throws the bottle, and cut out the queen getting hugged. Looks even better on tv, but it's unlikely to be shown in full again til the world cup starts.

You know there was a director's cut?

Think the abridged version works better, especially the music, though.

Looks to be just the Spanish guys Iniesta, Fabregas and Pique.

There's another version of the Nike ad with Robinho.

I think Adidas might have objected to that!

them multi-millionaire executives at Adidas would be in there grave before Messi would be in a Nike ad.

Unless you give them 500 million.

Most of the players in that ad have really set the WC alight so far haven't they?
