I have been testing my vodafone DSL with speedtest today and I am getting speeds on my 7.6MB package of between 9MB and 45MB is there something wrong with speedtest as I have tested this on 3 machines.

I was also told there was no 24MB in Dundalk and my line was only capable of 10Megs at most :

Does anyone know if they are playing around with the exchange ?

    I also downloaded vista sp2 in about 1min 10 secs about 300mb's

I've gotten these too. I was downloading a Linux ISO a few days ago and I had managed a speed of 8.8MBps (Not megabit, Megabytes per second ) meaning I got a 600MB ISO in less than two minutes.

It wasn't burst either, It lasted for about half the download before settling around 1MBps.

It's more than likely due to your antivirus buffering
    and scanning your connection
