Bottled water = too expensive to live on, and it almost never rains where I live.

I sort of agree with it, put ever 14 year old girl on the pill.....

I think a lot of 16 year old girls would go on the pill but fear being found out by their parents.

There are a few million reasons why this is a bad idea:

    1. If girls are "sterile", then condom use will collapse and STD transmission will skyrocket, which is far worse than a few thousand young mothers.
    2. It would create bad habits around contraception, so when the injection wears off, *boom* thousands of pregnant teens who didn't realise.

They should just get to the nub of the problem and sterilise all men who go to jail or leave school before they're 18.

Why not sterilise the females who leave school before they're 18 as well?

actually you make a good point. we should limit birth rates :) less birth rates meaning declining population meaning it will solve the unemployment issues :) cause there will be less people ;)

    who needs kids :)

Disagree with there being some form of mandatory sterilisation, no matter which gender it was imposed on as I believe that being in control of one's own fertility and reproduction is a key factor to being considered a free individual. Government has too much control as it is.
However, I would agree to more emphasis on sex education and if somebody came up with some method of teen parents to get state benefits at the same time as giving something back to the state, that would be super. If the system was more balanced, perhaps there would be less teen pregnancies since young people would be aware that they would have an even harder life living off state benefits than they would if they became educated and got a job.

well behind every child is their parents parenting...

if their child got pregnant maybe the parents have done a great job at parenting therefore maybe the parents should have so some of sex education to help them educate the kids...

OK there's accidents but god how many idiots there playing games of dodge the bullet and pulling the trigger before taking the gun out of some ones face?

there's a good saying...the mum/dad are fat...daughter/son is fat...and the cat and dog are fat too...it implies that the kids are certain amount of their parents in actions and behavior and habits...and their parents behaviors and parenting is reflected by them...girl gets pregnant or a lad gets some one pregnant and it wasn't an accident (though they all said it was :) ) its the parenting to blame!
