Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bike to Work choice...

So There I woz today, gathered the owner and finance director of the company together and coerced them into agreeing to the bike to work scheme (small company :) ). My only obstacle is now the localised account manager (she who must be obeyed) and, subject to that, the purchase of said ve-hicle ?

I am an occasional cyclist who lives up what would here be considered a */mountain*/ and I traded my much loved but never used Trek 2001 7.5FX for a trailler and winters-worth of wood  But now, having stupidly signed up for the cycle bit of a sprint triathlon I need something with a wee bit more credibility than my Trek 4000 mtb  (that equally, right now, goes nowhere)...

I have every intention on biking to work in the summer time and am considering:

    Trek 7.5: http://www.kilgrewscycles.ie/graphics/hybrids/trek75fx.jpg

    or 7.3

    http://www.kilgrewscycles.ie/graphics/hybrids/trek73fx.jpg

And would be grateful for alternatives of the similar price banding (and where is cheapest / best to buy given the company needs to buy it)...

Cant justify a road bike where I live (SWMBO would smell a rat as to its possible use plus she's probably right, would'nt go anyplace)

    Help and comment much appreciated..

Have you considered a road bike with drop bars?

I was going to get a hybrid on the ctw scheme aswell, but after listening to some sound advice from lads on here I saw the light and am now a proud owner of a Giant Defy 2!

I'm really glad I went for a road bike, I dont think I would be using a hybrid half as much if I had got one!
