Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Really not the best shaped vehicle for Police work in fairness.

    Though this quote is impressive:
Italy's police have logged over 87,000 miles of duty with Gallardo patrol cars since 2004.

Don't a lot of the forces like the metropolitan one above get cars sprayed for photo shoots and PR but actually won the car or have them in service?

That is a real Lambo, was used at some car show in 2006. Not a real Police car though.

That plate is always used on Lambos tested on Top Gear

Don't the MET police use the confiscated high powered cars on the beat? When the break it they just confiscate another one from a drug baron :P

That was one of the decommissioned original Gallardo's that they use for show these days. They were replaced with LP560's a few years ago.

There's also the police Caparo T1 show car in the UK and the elise has been done a few times too.

And this 612 turned out for the Ferrari 60 relay

The Murcielago above was a publicity stunt, the plate YEV1L is owned by Lamborghini London.

    http://www.autobild.de/artikel/starke-polizei-autos_372963.html

It is from a German magazine Autobild.

Bild = picture. A picture paints a thousand words. Thus no translation.

About German police having had Porsches.

    What happened the German Police-Porsches?
On 10th August 2004 the last German Police-Porsche was wrecked by a wild animal. The Zuffenhauseners (Porsche factory is in Zuffenhausen) did repair the 993 and placed it in a museum. But the 911ers no longer got a chance on the road. The competition was too roomy and faster and turned to diesel.
In the Rhineland there was a squad of Porsche's; also the Police in Baden-Württenberg drove 356, 911 and 944.

The truck is real, its so they can see into the cabs of trucks catching drivers multitasking .... i.e. watching telly and cooking dinner etc

The police forces in the UK that have 5 series are all SO-19 I believe, armed response.
