Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bicycle mirror

I have reduced sight in my left eye making it difficult to see things coming at me from my left. For this reason, when a slip road joins the main road I'm cycling along, I find it very difficult to keep cycling and check for traffic coming from behind. I'm thinking of getting a little mirror or something for my bike, and a quick search revealed this or this. Anyone got any opinions on these or other options?

I've a mirror on a few of my bikes. Very handy for lots of different reasons.

The first mirror is for fitting to a helmet. The second is for the bar end of a flatbar'd bike.

I have one of these on one of my drop bar bikes.

Thanks, DFD. I would need a mirror for a road bike, but I was put off that Blackburn one by the reviews on CRC , although the Wiggle reviews are much more optimistic. I kinda like the idea of the helmet mirror as I can move my head to get the full benefit, but have no concept of how it would look sticking out the side of my head.

    It will look like this:

I don't always wear a helmet, so no use for me. What I like about the Blackburn style one on the drop bars is that you can angle it inwards, so it's between the end of the bars and the stem (if that makes sense). Doesn't make the bike any wider and is useable from the different hand positions on the bike (again, if that makes sense).

I understand why the OP needs a mirror but for myself I think they make you lazy and over confident... you forget to check for the blindspots. Although recently when I had a sore neck and could barely move it I wished I had one :)
