Best Opening Sequence?

Over the weekend I caught up on Season 4 of Big Love, I had heard that they changed the opening credits and I was a little disappointed, I don't like change!

But when I saw it, I was blown away!! What an amazing opening sequence!!

If you're not familiar with Big Love, here is the original, which was great.

And here is the new version....

God dammit I love HBO.

Oh, and Ginnifer Goodwin FTW.

So, what's your favourite opening sequence?

any one that's short and gives more time to the actual episode, like Lost or Stargate Universe.

but if i had to choose one, i'd say BSG (except for the last bit, which shows some clips from the episode but i look away )

Toss up between Dexter and True Blood. The first one never gets old, but I love the music to True Blood (Bad Things by Jace Everett in case you're interested:)), so as I guess this is best opening sequence and not best opening music, I'll have to go with Dexter:D

Law and Order closely followed by Law and Order SVU. When that music kicks in a smile creeps across my face. The music just suits the premise of the show perfectly!

Also I love every time an HBO show comes on with the "Ahhhhhhhhhh" because you know you are in for a good 60 minutes, unless you hear the SATC music next....

Speaking of which, the Wire had a good theme and it was awesome the way they changed it each season. At the start I would always hate it but then I would come to love it and be sad when they change it again.

Oh and Twin Peaks shall not be forgotten for it is my phones ringtone!

The Classic TV Intro. Who can forget the music, the way the windows look like mirrors on the buildings, the reflection of the helicopter, the actors ...classic!!

Def agree with Dexter and so far on season 4 of the wire and I like that too the way itchanges, it can seem a bit long sometime.

I also loved Gavin and Stacey loved the quick start up and the song was class.

I also still love Gavin DeGraw's I don't wanna be at the start of One tree hill, class song even if the series is failing a bit.

Most HBO shows have great intros; The Sopranos, The Wire, True Blood, Six Feet Under all have great music and great images to go with them.

Totally agree, Dexter best visuals & True Blood best music. Best intro imo has to have a combination of the two, and that is definitely BSG - you cannot watch and hear it without being excited!

Babylon 5 has some great ones in it.. Each season was different. I can't decide between season 3 and 4 for my favourite. I should warn anyone who is worried about such things, spoilers within. There is dialog during it which explains what is going on with the story at the time.

Twin Peaks.. I'd say this and B5 probably compete for my top spot. It has a hell of a lot of character, and when a long intro is something I want to see each time, it means its got something.

Thanks, Sad Professor. Watching the Farscape intro reminded me its been quite a while since I saw the show. Still have other stuff I haven't seen yet, so rewatching isn't a priority. Its just on the agenda.
