Is there a funfair on the Quay this weekend? Seem to remember it being mentioned a while ago. Something to do with the Seafaring festival but there's no mention of it on the website.

a parade of sea shanty singers will filter through the streets of the city on saturday, with a funfair operating on the quay and plenty of waterbased activities happening on the river suir throughout the weekend.

the festival, which is organised by local ses shanty singers hooks + crooksand supported by waterford city council ,aims to recall waterfords maritime heritage.

it will be anchors away at 6pm on friday, when the mayor of waterford will offically open the festival.with over 100 free gigs by acts from holand, denmark, germany, england, wales, norway, france and of course ireland, you wouldnt want to miss this new 3 day festival.

an information desk will be available throughout the 3 day festival,on friday and sunday in the tower hotel and on the saturday in the waterford tourism office.

Sounds like it should be good fun. We're meant to have some friends down Saturday night so it'd be nice if there was some good music on somewhere.
