Major poll fail - whilst I'm sure it would be difficult for anyone to find a comprehensive list of ISPs in Ireland, there should at least be an option for "Other, please specify".

My ISP is the ironically named, Fastcom.
Ditto. Although I don't seem to have the same problems as a lot of others.

Been paying Eircom for the last couple of years for 8meg BB and only discovered recently (while complaining about the appalling service) that my line is only capable of 5meg.

Does Eircom advertise it as 8mb or up to 8mb?

My ISP at the moment? In coffeehouse hotspot. Don't know who feeds their access point wifi router. Don't really care. So long as the coffee is hot, and the servers are hotter.

    UPC/NTL/Chorus
Vodafone here and they seem to work okay.

I'm also with Three for their mobile broadband.

UPC, for nearly 5 years. problems in the beginning but nothing major now. Wouldn't chose any other BB provider atm.

Also have O2 for the phone, surprisingly good speeds (2mb).

Alice :) Nippy 16MB with no lag even at peak times, free national calls, only need to give notice until EOM, and none of these download limits (caps??) that I hear about in Ireland

I just did a test on the 7mb digiweb connection here at work. 50ms ping with 7.29mb download. Probably should have stayed with them from the sounds of things. :(

I'm with Digiweb, no option for it on the poll.

Had a girl try to sell me Eircom in Currys last year, after they had banned TPB(which I don't use very often because of its unreliable content). When I asked her about it she told me that using torrents was illegal. :D

    Magnet
started off on eircom back in the dial up days and switched to smart to get the free line rental for life and 1meg download.

its up to 5 meg now without me having to get on to them or anything and its averaging about 3.5meg.

its costing me 40 quid a month though which is pretty pricy now so im thinking of switching to wi max or UPC.

have meteor mobile broadband for the net book. if im out at the Mas i can bearly get a connection while in town it flits between 256k and 7 meg depending on the whim of the gods.

TBH i was thinking of just slapping that in the back of the PC but i watch alot of TV on the net and i could go through that 7.5gig a month limit fairly quickly.

UPC - absolutely delighted with them tbh. Even if their CS does suck and they ass rape you with ''downgrade'' fees, but that doesn't effect the BB.

By the way, Sky Broadband in England plans to upgrade their broadband services with two packages in June.
Speeds will be up to 20 mbits/sec
The company says it will the only ISP offering such high speed.

Sky Unlimited costs £7.50 a month for 20 mbits/sec and is for uncapped use.
Sky Everyday Lite has the same speed but will have a cap of 2GB a month

It remains to be seen if this service will offered to Irish citizens - I'm keeping an eye on it.
