Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking at the new grand megane, seems to tick all boxes, and is big enough for the wife and two kids and all the baggage.
Getting a good scrappage on my 99 Mazda and the annual tax is €104.
    Just one question?
Renault seem to be hit and miss with a lot of people, I have had a test drive and liked it but am I buying trouble?
    Anybody out there bought one?

How long to due you plan to keep it? Past the warranty period? Have you priced up the service cost - to maintain the warranty?

If you plan to keep it 5 years - did you also look at the Hyandai i30 ro Kia C'eed (that warranty could be worth a lot)... or howabout extend the Renault warranty if you're worried?

Renault offer an extended warranty to 5 years as an option on the Grand Scenic afaik, though the extended 2 years are with a third party rather than Renault.

Just had a look at those two you mentioned, the Kia works out €900 more than the grand megane and I don't fancy the Hyaundai.
I'm planning to keep the car for 5 years at least, will be very low mileage, I only clocked up 24K in my Mazda in the last 5 years.

Wife has the previous model, also 2 kids and it is a great car. Comfy, economical, spacious and the boot swallows everything.

The new model addresses build and reliability concerns, the new Megane is doing very well by all accounts, I would have no qualms.
