So I'd say 9 slots out of 10 will go to 'friends' voting for eachother...so Ireland have a bit of competition for that 1 envelope..

    How many go through?

I thought the Turkish song was good, better than maudlin ballads and songs with 'ooooh' and stupid dancers! Not sure about the Metal Mickey with grinder though!

    Armenia ;)

My god, some mixed bag tonight.. Turkey (rock) , slovenia ( medley of folk and hip hop), Lithuania (line dancing), load of slow ballads from pretty boys and pretty girls, Denmark (meatloaf type song) ... like judging apples against oranges..

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,692 ✭✭✭✭OPENROAD

I think Ireland might miss out

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,476 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Thought there was a lot of bad songs tonight, not a fan of Ireland's song but because the poor standard and half the votes coming from a jury I think Ireland will get through.

I hope Armenia gets through too, as I want to see that cleavage again!

My fave is Romania (aside from Niamh, of course!)

  • Registered Users Posts: 45,594 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Songs I liked and hope go through:

    Sweden
    Azerbaijan
    Denmark
    Georgia
    Armenia
    Romania
    Holland (for the laughs)

Thought Niamh was a bit off with the voice - a bit strained/hoarse. This won't be easy.Brace yourselves for dissapointment - I figure there are 14 songs certainly in with a shout. Disregard Holland, Lithuania and Slovenia...

I'm surprised at how many songs i'm singing along to already!

well marty mentioned niamh being treated like royalty, there maybe a chance on her reputation, she may get through.

Turkey was by far the best tonight.

Niamh was good. And for the ballad category, we did probably win out, but she did fluff up at the end.

Lithuana - No. On Second viewing...Just no.
    Armenia - It's alright. Meh.
    Israel - "Wooaaaaaaaaaaaaoooooh" indeed.
Denmark - Sting and Carla doing some weird Leona Lewis hybrid.
    Switzerland - I honestly don't know.
Sweden - Nice, breathy song. I really liked her voice. :)
Azerbaijan - Too much going on
Ukraine - Her voice went through me. I'll pass.
Netherlands - STOP IT, Netherlands, bold!!
Romania - I liked it. Catchy. Good singers
    Slovenia - Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.
    Bulgaria - "Ooooooooooooooooooooooooh"
Cyprus - Nice song. Usual pretty boy ballad.
Croatia - Meh. Nice, but too similar to the Serbia song that won in 2008.
    Georgia - Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
    Turkey - LOVED IT.

    Armenia (big boobs)
    Denmark
    Sweden
    Azerbaijan
    Ukraine
    Romania
    Ireland
Turkey (putting it in because it will get through anyways)
    Croatia
    Georgia

Ones that I hope/think will get through :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,047 ✭✭✭rebel10

Here is who i would pick, or i think will be picked
    Armenia
    Azerbaijan
    Romania
    IRELAND!!!!!!:)
    Croatia

To be honest i thought there would be more, so fingers crossed!!

Not that she did a bad job, but I can't help thinking that there are probably a lot of Irish singers who could have made a better job of the song than Niamh.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

    Holland (for the laughs)
    ripoff of this

  • Registered Users Posts: 751 ✭✭✭greenie

Yeah I think Ireland will be lucky to get through...fingers crossed anyway

Easily 10 better songs than what Ireland could come up with.

    Lucky if we scrape through.
