Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Howdy,

    wonder if anyone has a few different chants fot the various teams playing in the world cup.

    for Germany I was given:

    Einer geht noch, einer geht noch rein
    Fußball ist unser Leben, der König Fußball regiert die Welt
    Der Theodor, der Theodor, der steht bei uns im Fußballtor
    Er steht im Tor und nicht dahinter
    Lu-Lu-Lukas Podolski
    Aber eins, aber eins das bleibt bestehen, xy darf nicht untergehn

    Has anyone got any others?

    So so catchy.
    Not as good as "Team of Gary Breens" however.

    One more, One more will still fit in,
    Football is our life, king football rules the world
    Theodor, Theodor, Stands in our goals,
    He stands in the goal and not behind it,
    Lu-Lu-Lukas Podolski,
    But one, but one thing remains, [Your country] can't sink.

    Well from my knowledge of sports,

    Footy = Aussie Rules
    Football = American Football
    Soccer = Association Football
    GAA/Gaelic = Gaelic Football

    After all the name of this fourm is Soccer right?

    And when did a slogan become a chant?

    In fairness if you were talking to an Irish person and they said football you wouldn't think they were on about American Football.

    Aussie Rules is known as Aussie Rules here, well amongst my friends it is, anyway.

    I call soccer 'football' now, probably from watching too much Sky Sports.

    As a huge American Football and GAA fan I still believe that 'soccer' is the only game than can legitimatley be called football as the majority of play is with the feet as apposed to hands with either of the other sports mentioned. Anyway this is totally of topic.

    But as an earlier poster mentioned, nothing can beat the chant of 'a team of Gray Breens'

    WTF is up with the German's chants?
    "He stands in goals and not behind it". Well he'd be fairly shít if he stood behind the goals now in fairness.
