Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
Is there anyone who has suscessfully got an Acer netbook with linux software to connect to a 3 modem. I am trying at the moment with little luck. I have the mobile partner on the connect menu. It dosen't detect the modem when i click on this and plug in the modem. I have tryed going into options and setting the APN to 3internet, 3, 3internetireland and 3internet.ie but all keep retutning the message 'modem has been disconnected or unavailable.
I am told it will work on the acer but if I phone up 3 technical support they say they only provide support for windows systems. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong.

To the best of my knowledge none of the mobile broadband modems will work with linux. It's a driver issue. You could check with the modem manufacturers website!

as far as i know linux support for mobile broadband modems is pretty good I have an e220 that works fine with ubuntu. it recognised it automatically when I connected the modem to my computer.
    APNs for Three -
    3ireland.ie (for billpay customers)
Three - 3internet (for prepay customers)

I don't know much about the linux that comes with acer netbooks try the linux forum here or an acer netbook forum such as Acer Aspire One User Forum
