Guys - The latest 'Which' Magazine 'Which Awards' for 2010 were announced last week at a prestigious ceremony (not that I would know - I did not get an invite! But it did contain good news for us Richerites and many thanks to any Boardies out there who contributed to our success in these awards - here is some of the detail:

    Who cares, wins!

    Which? Awards Announced:

The winners of the 2010 Which? Awards

    19 May 2010

Small businesses and global brands shared the stage at today's annual Which? Awards, where top notch customer service and quality products proved a powerful combination.

    This year's winners

In the retail sector, exceptional customer service, quality products and knowledgeable staff made high street favourite Richer Sounds a deserving winner of the coveted Best Retailer Award.Best Retailer
    Winner: Richer Sounds

TV, hi-fi and home cinema specialist Richer Sounds, which has 48 stores nationwide, was rated joint top in the latest Which? high street shop survey. It was the only retailer that got a maximum five-star rating for both the quality of its customer service and its competitive prices.

Also shortlisted: John Lewis, Lakeland, Waitrose

While hidden gems Lakeland and Richer Sounds both have fewer than 50 branches across the UK, both scored top marks for customer service. Richer Sounds customers loved its 'lovely, helpful knowledgeable staff' and it was the only shop in the Which? league table to score five stars out of five for both price and customer service. Lakeland was praised for innovative products and a great aftersales service.

Almost all of the top 10 high street shops in the Which? survey are specialist stores - with the only notable exception being department store chain John Lewis. It comes fifth overall

Currys Digital and WH Smith least loved

Currys Digital and WH Smith were slated by customers and came last.

According to one customer, staff at Currys Digital, the audio visual chain owned by electrical retail giant DSG International, have 'very poor customer care and product knowledge.' Established high street name WH Smith was deemed 'not as good as it used to be'.

Joining these losers at the bottom of the table are:

    Currys
    JJB Sports
    PC World
    Focus
Our survey shows that the bugbear of unhelpful staff tops the poll of things shoppers find most irritating about the high street.

Which? chief executive Peter Vicary-Smith says: 'We know people appreciate good customer service so retailers need to realise that who cares, wins. Some stores are clearly giving their customers what they want, so why settle for lousy service? We urge shoppers to stamp out bad service by voting with their feet.'

    End Quote

As many of you will know WHICH magazine receive do not accept any advertising - so no bias and no hidden agenda!

You can see details of the review HERE
or of course by grabbing a copy of the magazine.

Again thanks to any & all of you guys who have helped win this award we really do appreciate it!

    John Mc & Crew

    Congrats boys and girls...well deserved!

Now if you could put up a promotional calender for the rest of the year and allow us boardies to budget rather than just impulse-buy-and-replace-3week-old-kit, that would be fantastic! I'm going through more boxes than Tiger Woods at a Waitress Convention at the moment........ :D

open a store in cork john, there is literally a massive hole in the market down here for a specalised av shop, there is nothing down here but chain stores that sell rubbish with limited, overpriced stock

    well done also
