    Missed training yesterday on account of popping my left adductor getting out of bed, absolute b*ll****... pure agony and the single worst way anyone can wake up ever. Still quite sore, I don't hold much hope for squatting and deadlifting this week but I'll get the car polisher at it and see if it'll calm down.

    Left adductor still isn't feeling 100% after that absolutely ridiculous injury Sunday morning so I had spotters from 60kg up just to be safe, took my stance in slightly to protect it but was aware of it coming out of the hole on pretty much every rep. Kind of disappointed not to get over 15reps on the top set all the same so I did another set for zee craic. I shall be sore tomorrow. Loving the banded KB Swings, a friend of mine who's coaching out in the UCD high performace gym showed me them when I was there checking the place out... gotta get that hip extension bro. Google it... tis' fun!

    My everywhere hurts after yesterday, found it hard to sit on the bench hamstrings and adductors are particularly unhappy. The vertical strength seems to be coming along nicely now. No DB work as I'm genuinely too stiff to get them in position from the ground to overhead. Getting a DEXA scan in a couple weeks for sh*ts and giggles.

    Getting it done free through a friend that needs a control group as part of a thesis in sports science in UCD. Stipulations being that you train, have a BMI that says you're obese and aren't actively looking to drop weight in the proceeding 6 week period as there is a re-test at that point too.

    Its quite simple. Drop reps and increase weight each week towards comp... Start around seventy-something percent... let the higher rep PRs guarantee the lower ones, and stay under 90% until a couple weeks out. Then smash the granny out of it when it counts ;)

    Gets slightly more complicated for me since I have different rep PRs raw, in sleeves and in wraps... but the principle remains the same. So in the run up to the next comp with regards squatting I'll be aiming for a heavy 3-5RM second last session, and a heavy double in knee wraps 2 weeks out.

    Probably the last 2 sessions in wraps, if everything goes to plan I'll hit my old wrap PRs in heavy sleeves before then.

    Was not expecting that to go well at all! Minimal kcals the past 2 days as I had to fast for a dexa scan and just no appetite on account of being sick so thought id just do a light session to stop the rot. Spotter adament i benched 140x8 completely unassisted.. I just dont believe him... Be nice if I did, but just no, and def not today. Incline was solid as hell looking forward to some PRs there soon I think 150 is the 1RM.

    Had planned on a double or more in 220 deadlift today.. only because I haven't pulled over 210 since mid December :eek: As with the squatting I'm trying to stay belt free as long as possible and the 235 shot up. Actually felt more comfortable without the belt as I completely messed up my set up on the 250 set. I haven't pulled a heavy triple in a long time... went back over 18months of my log and couldn't find anything so its a PR by default having only pulled doubles and singles basically forever. 220 as a back off set because I was waiting for a rack... tidy result there too. Adductor is still acting up something fierce, the SSB was rough but loving the insane core pump from it.
