Has anyone else in the Shannon area noticed a smell from their water recently? The only way to describe it is that it smells like bad breath. It is pretty rank and has been like this the last few days.

Sounds like it's sulphur dioxide, I get it in the water from my well which also has iron in it, the two may possibly go together! I thought they usually got filtered out in group systems such as yours, maybe there's some kind of equipment failure which they haven't told you about?

Wonder if this is related issue?

Clare County Council wish to advise consumers in the Smithstown Shannon & Stonehall Newmarket on Fergus that due to essential repairs water will be turned off tomorrow Tuesday from 5pm to 12midnight.
