    Yes another info thread :)

so the woman we were looking at to do our wedding cake had to pull out and we're at a loose end trying to think of someone.

Anyone CHEAP out there but would meet the mrs test? Keep in mind if it were up to me i'd just use a Mr. Kipling cake. :)

    Cheers

Those cakes look so good, works of art. I like the idea of a cutting cake and smaller cake for display.

When I got married over 20 years ago I had a 3 tier cake and the cakes were all bigger and just fruit cake with the rock solid royal icing though it did look beautiful. My mother made the wedding cake and her friend who specialised in sugarcraft iced it.

The bottom tier was used at the reception, each set of parents got 1/4 of the middle tier and I used the other half at work, it survived being wrapped in our checked in luggage and the top tier was kept for christmas 8 months after getting married but it got the bin as I wasn't aware that I should have removed the icing or just frozen the whole thing and the icing went a bit manky - cake itself wasn't too bad at that stage.
