Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know what are the qualifications required to become a TV/Film freelance cameraman? My sister's son is off to uni to study Media and Photography and she wants to know if after graduating will he be required to do a form of apprenticeship or will he be qualified to apply to a studio straight away? Will he need to complete a portfolio such as videos and photos as part of his CV? Thanks if anyone can supply any info.

    Hiya Havetoquit,

You posted in the photography here and i'm afraid us photographers wouldnt have a clue about film!

Perhaps best of trying to post in the film forum as there is an interesting FAQ section with loads of information and I'm sure they'll be able to answers your questions a lot better!

Here is the link to the film production forum: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=573

In case you pop back on: Usual process is to sign up as a runner for productions. He should check out anything being made at the moment (there are quite a few in production around dublin). Check out http://www.irishfilmboard.ie/ http://www.iftn.ie/ or http://www.filmbase.ie/

    :)
