Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am thinking of doing a photography course from home and I have found two good ones. One is a correspondence with kilroys college and the other is an online course with a college called CMIT. Both seem good I am just wondering if anyone has any advice as to which one would be the best for a beginner and which would be most beneficial???

If you live within distance of one I suggest you join a camera club that also runs courses. At least then you have fellow members to interact with and exchange ideas etc. And maybe the club arranges field trips etc. Good luck in the hobby,
    John

I found you tube a great source of help with photography from basics through to post processing, also get the invaluable book understanding exposure,by all means go the online course route but for me I think its a waste and id rather use the course fee to buy equipment:)

Joining a camera club is a good idea look up http://irishphoto.ie then clubs to see a list of some of the clubs in ireland.

    Websites I find usefull is
http://www.photoanswers.co.uk has good videos on both camera usage and photoshop they update it the odd time.
    http://www.dslrtips.com/workshops/DSLR_workshops_tutorials_tips.shtml
has the basics for using a dslr he use's a canon but it applies to others as well.
in youtube search box type in photography. the less you type into youtube the more options you will get back try photography tips / photography tutorials.

I think it depends on if you are getting into photography as a hobby or if you want a recognised certificate. CMIT have a FETAC Digital Photography course and FETAC are well recognised in Ireland.
