Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Howdy,

There's campsites in both Fanore and Doolin. Haven't been to them so no idea what they are like.

In North Clare there are plenty of overnight stopping points. Bell harbour and NewQuay have nice spots to pull in. Ballyvaughan always has a few campers parked up, plus down the coast road (between BallyV and Lisdoon) there are a number of pull in spots where you could reside for a night.

Respect the environment, leave no trace and you'll be grand

    Enjoy.

Nagles in Doolin is nice. Down past Kilkee you have Green Acres in Doonaha - looking out on the Shannon Estuary or Rahona Lodge which is near Carrigaholt. I dont see much wild camping but not to say its there

mc cormaks campsite in fanore is lovely, river cahir more like a stream runs through it to the sea. there are two beaches to access, the main fanore beach and a smaller more private stretch seperated but easily accessed by walking the dunes or crossing the rocks easily done.
there are basic facilities only on site, electricity and showers etc.
nearest shop is about 2 miles up the road in the village where there is also a o donohues pub and a restaurant.
the site can get quite busy but there are lots of spots where no one camps away from the main areas.
definitely to be reccomended and if you bring kids and a dog they will have a great time!

The car park in front of the beach has height restriction barriers on it.

McCormacks in Fanore is a fab spot...its basically set in the dunes so you have clusters of people camping in all different spots...couldnt recommend it enough plus its V cheap.
There is also an amazing restaurant/cafe just up the road from it across from odonoghues pub.

    Marty.

I'm looking for some suggestions for all of Ireland really. Just bought a camper this year and did Cork and Kerry coast last week, was fab. We love the coast and ideally would love to be parked right on shore where ever we land we have a dog so like good proximity to beaches to allow us all to stretch the legs! Campsites or free parking. We'd prefer smaller quieter campsites. Dowlings in Glengarrif was lovely defo re-visit that one! Also parked up on the beach in Waterville too which was paradise!
Is it true that some marina's offer electric hook up for campers?
    Any tips/advice really appreciated.

doggy heaven in fanore!! joe who owns the site loves the dogs and they have free reign, unless of course they are bold dogs:)
great all round spot though and excellent for the water sports!
    have a ball.

Had a great weekend in Fanore - I am generally not a great fan of campsites but this was different - parked up between the dunes by ourselves near the sea - walked for miles on the green road on the hillside, herself and kids got to go to the beach and cycled up to Donoghues for a pint afterwards ( me, that is - not the kids!) - will definitely be back and will bring the dogs this time. Highly recommended.
