I am waiting a lot longer for pages to load ( not my connection)
    but sitting watching
    conntecting boards.ie : fair enough
    Adtech: ad server, fair enough
    Bigboards : is that new?
b-static.net : seems to be boards related but more waiting most of
time waiting seems to be for this to load.
Google analytics : still waiting for pages to load

Nope, it's been around a while. Longer than I have at least.

b-static.net is what used to be static.boards.ie. It's where all the images, CSS and javascript come from.

If you've been browsing for a while, you should be fetching very little from this, since your browser will have cached most of the stuff. The only thing I normally see coming from b-static.net are avatars that I haven't already seen.

If you're fetching lots of stuff from b-static.net (you're probably not, but if you are) then your browser may have a screwed-up cache. Unlikely, but it happens from time to time with Firefox.

This is the most likely candidate for blame. Yesterday there were three spikes in the delay for "metrics" bits to load. This would be due to slowness in Google Analytics, Bluemetrix, ComScore or Big Boards. (Yes, that's way too many metrics trackers. Yes, I want to cut down the numbers. No, I haven't received a clear decision on which to get rid of.)

Yesterday, spikes excluded, the average time across all users for pages to render was approximately 4 seconds. (Roughly half a second to start seeing content and then 4 seconds for the full page to render.) That's roughly the same as the average for the last two weeks. If you were seeing anything significantly different from that, then odds are it's something kooky at your end.

Kinda of a zombie thread but wondering if anyone had made a decision on this as I see we still have the same metrics plus Doubleclick.

Nope. Not my decision to make I'm afraid. It's a sales thing mostly.

Boards for me has definitely been slower over the last few weeks. b-static.net delays a lot of things, & this affects even the homepage where there's no Avatars etc.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
