Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'll do a few, some are harder than others! Think hard about the first one, it's a memorable scene from a director who's on the news and tv lately...

    Couple of clues:
    1. 70s film starring a future double Oscar winner
    2. Also a 70s film with a soundtrack from a much loved Canadian singer

I'll give a clue, it's an early film by a now fairly well-known director. He's very bald and very English.

    Need an extra clue?
    This character's name is Fag-ash.

Ok, here's the next round! I'm not sure if number 5 is too easy or too hard...There is a dead giveaway and it was a very popular film.

    2. 260309.jpg

    1 is THX 1183

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Deepblue - You are 100% right! Philippe Petit looking beautiful there. It was a challenge to find a screenshot that wasn't too easy or too hard.

tricky d -It is THX 1138, well spotted. Again, 99% of this film would be very, very easy to recognise.

    These three left

Yes that's the big hint! Think hard and you'll get it!

It's very mainstream, not a typical film for this thread.

Ok, clues! 3 is entirely in Spanish (but hugely popular) and 4 is partly in English and partly in Spanish.

Is 3. The Orphanage (El orfanato) ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Right, sports film partly in Spanish based in the USA and Dominica. You can probably guess the sport from that.

The Daniel Craig one is Dream House. I didn't see it. I don't think anyone else did either.

Number 2 is wrecking my head. I am pretty sure it's John Cusack and I know the other but am drawing a blank on anything he was in. I think he looks like the guy from Oz, Said, but googling "Eamonn Walker totally looks like" gave me nothing.

Its not John Cusack on the left, its an older actor.

Just these two left, a couple of clues:

#3 This was not the first collaboration between Newman and this Director.
#6 is a cult road movie of sorts.
