new conversion

Hi all

I am just about to start on a conversion of a van to campervan for weekend and light use , i was originally planning to use a volkswagen transporter as my base vehicle but im now starting to lean towards the bigger Lt35 specifically a 2005 2.5tdi swb that i can get my hands on.The higher roof being a big plus in my mind. The question i have is.... Has anybody here any experience with a job like this and are there any downsides to the choice of vehicle?

If you search back you'll find a long thread on converting a couple of merc sprinters from some posters on the board. Similar enough to the lt35.

I was in france last year and a couple in the campsite had a lovely maroon lt35 converted some pitches down from us. Looked like a great job.
