Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    errrr... dumb question time

Only ever got ferry tickets online in the past. Can you just show up and expect to take a ferry or is it by prior booking only?

I was thinking about heading to Newcastle on the Bird at the weekend if it's back from the menders.

you can just turn up and get a ticket.

But it usually cost's a little more.

Also.. If not booked in advance, and another ash cloud comes our way, the ferry could be full.

Get hold of Nut Travel, and book through them.

They will sort you out with a decent price.

What if the ferry is overnight? Are ticket desks manned 24/7 ??

They should have someone on the desks a few hours before the ship sails. Doubt they would be staffed 24/7.

I got Irish ferries Dub-Holyhead slow boat recently and that had a good few spots for bikes. Can't see the bikes selling out unless it's a NW200/UGP or some other big race weekend.

Depends on how many people are on the ferry, not how many bikes/cars/trucks. Mate of mine a few years ago left it till last min. to book ferry only to find out it was full. Load of coaches heading to some football match. Ferry was full peoplewise but hold was only half full with bikes/cars etc.
