    Folks.
Huge hassle here. Our software is designed to accept large files in DBS format.
However we are getting some files in XLS format.
Seems like one company we deal with a lot have gone fully to XLS .
Is it going to rob us to update .Software budget is pretty much gone dry .
    Thanks Guys.

    Sorry.
To make it clearer it seems files we usually get in DBF format will now be coming in XLS format .In XLS format our software will not open these files.
The software was specifically written for XLS .
Will the standard converters available online work for files this size.
    Average file size 60,000KB.
    Thanks again.

are you saying that your file provider just changed from dbf to XLS format without telling your or providing an update path?

Are you sure its xls format as that is MS Excel and it seems a bit strange that your provider switched from dbf to xls.

anyway if you open the xls file in MS Excel you can save as dbf. Did you try that?

If that works then you could write a program to use the Excel object and you could batch the conversion
