what is "dri-fit"?

dri-fit is a wicking fabric which is used for sports clothes. I think dri-fit is the nike name for their sports clothes and it is slightly different to standard wicking. I actually don't like the nike dri-fit as I think it stinks after using it much more than standard wicking fabric and I just don't like the feel of it against my skin.

If you exercise; play football, run, gym etc and wear ordinary cotton it sticks to you once you sweat and it gets wet. Then it gets cold and makes you cold. Wicking fabric absorbs the sweat but keeps it off the skin so you don't get cold and it dries very quickly. I think most official rugby and football jerseys are in wicking fabric. Alot of the road races now give out wicking t-shirts instead of cotton ones so you might notice in the summer around the Phoenix Park all the runners and joggers are wearing their addidas series t-shirts. Most of my wicking t-shirts are from races.

I use the Nike dry fit stuff for running, spinning and working out in and like it a lot. The Adidas clima cool stuff is also very good.

I've never had a static problem with any of the dry fit or clima cool stuff which is great as I get electric shocks from loads of things and seem to have lots of static.
