Theres no strikes ANYWHERE in the british isles!! How are you picking this up! Sure that boy said that his friend from the met office has shown him just that, were did you find this strike.

One or two more strikes, so my friend tells me (although he didn't say where, damn him!)

The ATC at Dublin just said "There is a lot of weather just east of the airfield". One Ryanair just requesting a deviation in flight to avoid...

thats in the british isles. Why is it not showing up in this? http://www.blitzortung.org/Webpages/index.php?lang=en&page=1&subpage_0=4&subpage_3=3 it updates every second.

Some of these websites use non-official lightning sources to estimate the strikes. The Icelandic link is a great one to use as it sources its data from the official ATD strike information from the Met Office.

Different websites use lightning detectors from different sources Owen, some more sensitive than others.

what about this stuff coming down towards west from donegal?

Looks like it might be over east Carlow.

That would make more sense. I think the lack of storms is getting to owen , a quick ban might sort it , do we have any mods in the weather forum?

Our observers in Carlow, Wexford and Kilkenny should be on alert for possible severe storms soon, as this area has had some additional heating. Anyone mobile in that area for possible chase? Cells may tend to move southeast. Funnel clouds are quite likely, but tornado reaching ground not as likely. Could be some dramatic photo ops for somebody in the right place.
