Very little rain here all day to be honest , ground is still mostly dry.

Just shows how hard it is to forecast something like this , the same as yesterday , allr the rain going northwest , leaving just tucked under the band , by the looks of the radar we wont get away with it for much longer.

EDIT: Moderate rain just begining now!

Actually north east the light rain has made everything drenched in 45 mins here hopefully it thunders down later! So hard to beleive its 31c in england!

Yous must be starting to get the heavy stuff that is coming up here tonight as that would explain the bbc's prediction for 10pm.

Rain rate now 13.5mm/ph. So I don't know why it is not showing up :confused::confused::confused:

    Still no thunder here though.

Edit: Stopped now but sky remains portentous.

    So Tuam's still a thunderfree zone - Aw! :p
Just had three or four impressive rumbles- enough to shake the windows at the end of the last downpour but nothing since. Better than nothing though:D:p:D

I think owen ment someone is lieing about the thunder as no lightning detector has picked anything up recnetly , nothing close to land at all!

There may be a delay in those detectors so a storm may well have developed quickly.

Galway city - it looks very impressive out over the bay - dark, menacing clouds etc but much brighter here. Hope you get your thunder !!

Update: just had a few more rumbles & sky is darkening at an impressive rate!
