Blacklion pet hospital in Greystones are amazing. Alan is brilliant. When Jake was in the middle of liver failure they never gave up on him, on the days I didn't have the car to bring him up for his treatment one of them would drive down and collect him and bring him back to us for the evening, Alan even offered to bring him home with him for a night when it was very touch and go, came into the practice on a Sunday to give him his meds, and they all in general went way above and beyond what we expected, I'm sure a lot of places would have seen a 14 year old dog with liver failure and just said to PTS, but here we are a year later and Jake is healthier than even and still going strong. They were also fantastic in relation to payment, dealt with and negotiated with the insurance company directly and then never rushed us for the remaining money owed.

I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough.

Before I moved I used the vet in slane (name escapes me) and she was fantastic. She was honest and straight to the point and I liked how she was with my pets. She was slightly out of my way but worth it. Especially after a nasty visit to a vet in Navan.

I'm near Dundalk now and if I hadn't gone to Anna (healthy pets) I would be travelling to Slane. Anna is brilliant and is much the same as the vet in Slane in her manner.

I think both are fair in their prices.

That's Frances Harvey. A great woman to think outside the box. If there's a problem with your pet, she will not rest until she has found it. She's super on orthopaedic work, a real speciality of hers. And she doesn't charge the earth either. She is extraordinarily generous to rescue groups too. She might be a little unorthodox, but she's damn good!

I don't know Anna personally, but have heard nothing but great reports about her!

Frances Harvey in Slane is superb. She discovered what was wrong with my dog when other vets didnt have a clue. My dog is now a different dog (as in a pain free happy little camper:-))since recieving treatment from Frances. We bring all our dogs to her. On top of being an exceptionally excellent vet shes a lovely person too.

Another recommendation for Frances Harvey. A true animal lover and like others she was able to diagnose what was wrong with our dog when our regular vets couldn't. We went to her with an ortheapedic issue and she was straight to the point, with reasonable prices and unlike some vets who will refer on to expensive specialists when they can't make a diagnosis themselves, she will troubleshoot and try a number of options before recommending things like ultra sound scans etc.

Also want to say Treaty Vets in Limerick are super. They are very professional and competent, but really kind and chat about their pets too! I felt like a traitor bringing my kitten for her first shots (what?? I'm a desperate softie!!) and the vet put us both at ease!

    A breeze to deal with.

Finnoula Garvey at Blessington Vet Hospital in Blessington , co wicklow.
I can attest for her having the most sweetest/sincere bedside manner when it comes to treating my old dog. Have been attending her clinic for 6 years and i never feel rushed, she goes to great lengths to explain in simple terms what she is doing and why she is doing it.
Dogs never lie and mine will walk into her pratice will tail wagging and is calm and relaxed i feel as a direct result of her caring interaction and patient manner.
I'm present for all routine exams and she will happily allow me to hold and restrain my dog when needing a procedure(ex. bloods taken/vaccinations etc) instead of defaulting to calling in the vet nurse.
A sense of trust is of upmost importance i feel between a vet and a client and Finnoula is a vet i trust with my dog's life.
