advice on dublin city marathon

feck sake lads

not sure were to post this so here goes.i invited a friend from the uk to stay with me in october ,he is going to run the dublin city marathon.
now the problem i have i dont know dublin at all .
i know the sigh on is at the RDS how do i get to it from drogheda :mad: then i think the actual start is at merrion sq .
if i was to park at the rds can i easly walk to the start .
looks like big hearted arther is going to be stuck in dublin all day waiting for my friend to finish.
any suggestions greatly appreciated;)
ps is it possible to follow the marathon on a bike will i get thrown off the course:mad:

Is he staying in Drogheda? I wonder if there will be a train at a suitable time. First train on a Bank Holiday gets in about 09:00-09:30. The start seems to be at 09:00 http://dublinmarathon.ie/

You can get a train to Connolly and a DART to Sandymount. Note that the registration tends to be on the weekend and the race on the Monday.

You might, so I'd ask these people http://boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=972 It would be a problem at the start, not so much of a problem once it thins out. Last year's route here: http://dublinmarathon.ie/general_course.php - you could pick a few choice locations.
