Band Challenge: I-Con's Next Becks Thing!

Phantom 105.2 and Becks Vier present I-Con's Next Becks Thing at Whelan's of Wexford St. This exciting Battle of the Bands style competition is brought to you in conjunction with Becks Vier and Phantom's own dedicated Irish Music show I-Con, which is presented by Cathal Funge (Weds 10pm-Midnight). This is a great opportunity for up and coming bands!


The competition will take place over 6 months, with four acts performing in front of a panel of guest judges at each of the five heats. The heats will take place on the following dates:

Friday, June 17th
Wednesday, July 28th
Thursday, August 19th
Thursday, September 23rd (TBC)
Thursday, October 21st

One act from each heat will progress to the Final on Thursday, November 18th.

Prize Fund:
Full prize details for the winner will be announced next week.

How To Enter:

If your band think they have what it takes to be crowned I-Con's Next Big Thing, send us your best track. Not two or three tracks, just the one!


By Post or hand:
Send a clearly labeled CD and a copy of your biog to Phantom 105.2, 73 North Wall Quay, Dublin 1.

Electronically:
You can e-mail a single track in MP3 format to icon@phantom.ie This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it along with your biog. Please do not attach more than one e-mail to your e-mail.

Important Note:
We are not judging your application on style or design but please make sure that your CD or MP3 is clearly labeled/titled and that you have included your contact details.

Age Restriction:
All entrants (including all band members) must be aged 18 or over.

Howlin' Dowlin were the winners of Heat 1 of Icons Next Becks Thing. They go through to the grand final in November. Well done to all bands who participated on the night. Next heat is on Wednesday, July 28th at Whelan's (Upstairs).
