Keep 2001 Golf or get 2008 Golf Plus?

I have a 2001 VW Golf with about 45,000 miles. I bought it new and I only tip around town.

Should I keep this car in the hope I could get another 5 years out of it? (Or am I dreaming!!!!)

I saw today in my local VW dealer a 2008 VW Golf Plus, 18,000 miles, trendline and 1 owner (I know the owner too) for €14,000. I guess he might give me €3,000 for my car.

What are the Golf Plus like? Searching the web they don't seem to be as popular as the regular Golf and don't have as good a residual value.

What do you think? Keep my old 2001 Golf or buy a 2008 Golf Plus for €11,000?

All I think is can you afford the extra €11,000??

Both Golfs are a nice car but I'd stick with if it aint broke dont fix it.

Is there anything bothering you about your current car? If not, i'd keep it until there is.

Keep it until it goes kaput (Unless you already know that it has problems), with the current pricing it just mean you'll likely to lose out financially from the trade..

So far the mileage is low and the car is likely to have a good bit of life left..

Keep the money you would have used, add more to it (if you like) and when the day the current one die, you'll have an opportunity to get an even better one.
