Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have a Toledo which has 4 small covered slits on the roof. When I remove the cover on the slits there is a hole into which something can be screwed.

Question: should I be buying this or this?

The important piece is the fixing kit it must be compatable to your car with fixing screws which go into those threaded holes already in your roof.
After that you can choose Standard square or aero bars either type will fit

I suspect the fixing screw version. It's reasonable to assume that the mounting holes are on some kind of strong points in the roof.

OTOH, I have managed to dent the curve of a roof edge with my knee so there could be the risk of marking the roof using the traditional clamp type.

OTOOH, using the clamp type of mount probably allows you to fit a longer bar so you'll have room for more bikes alongside the roof box...
