Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking for a bit of advice here. At the moment i have a Sram Force compact with a 12-25 rear cassette. Will replacing the cassette with an 11-27 make much of a difference. I climbed Seskin Hill in Carrick on Suir last week and really struggled to get over the top. Im doing the ROK on July 3rd and am trying to make it as easy as possible. Also is there much involved in swopping over the cassettes on the bike or is it a job for my LBS. Thanks

    Isn't Seskin some savage gradient?

There are no steep climbs on the ROK, it would be quite unusual not to be able to get around with a 34-25.

Lumen is right, there are no real steep climbs. Molls Gap is the worst, but that is partly because it is at the end. Here is the elevation data:

    Muckers,

Changing a cassette is quite easy but you'll need a cassette removal tool, available in your LBS. They can tell you how to use it. Dont think you'd need 34/27 for ROK but if you do the Sean Kelly 160km Tour, it would be good to have for Seskin and Mahon Falls(just in case :)). Also, I think 12-27 would be better than 11-27.

@Lumen. 21% gradient close to the top of Seskin so i suppose i was entitled to struggle on it. I will do the 160 Sean Kelly and the Marble city cycle along with a few more hopefully so i may as well change to a 12-27. Thanks for the replies lads.
