Bus Éireann Reduces Waterford Commuter Prices & Introduces Waterford City Day Saver

Bus Éireann has reduced its fares on commuter routes into Waterford by around 10 per cent and introduced a great value city day saver fare to make getting the bus even more attractive.

The new fares, which are being introduced for a four month trial from June 1st 2010, will see adult monthly commuter tickets reduced from €55 to €50, while adult weekly commuter tickets will be reduced from €16.50 to €15. Student and children commuter fares are also being reduced. For example, a student monthly ticket will be €40 (from €45) and a child monthly ticket will cost €25 (from €28.50).

In addition, Bus Éireann has introduced a new city day saver ticket, which allows unlimited travel on its city services (1C, 2C, 3C, 4C and 5C) on date of purchase for just €3.50. There is also a new child weekly ticket available for city travel for just €6.

“These new great value fares mean that there has never been a better time for people in Waterford to try the bus. Not only will you save money from the reduced fares, but you can also make significant savings from not having to pay for ever increasing petrol or diesel or car parking charges,” said Andrew McLindon, PR Manager, Bus Éireann.

The new €3.50 city day saver ticket is available for use on the following city routes:

* 1C Ballybeg
* 2C Johns Park/Avondale
* 3C Brownes Road
* 4C Logloss
* 5C Waterford Regional Hospital/Hillview

Very good idea from bus eireann this will increase passenger numbers when the students are gone and the busses won't look so empty.
